Frequently Asked Questions
Why should I clean my air ducts?
Will my house be less dusty after you clean the air ducts?
Will air duct cleaning help my allergies?
Many people are allergic to dust mite waste. Dust mites feed on debris found in duct work Remove the debris and you remove their food. Also, by greatly reducing particulate debris in your ducts, there are less dust particles and potential allergens in the air to aggravate those with respiratory sensitivities.
I live in a new home. Do I still need your service?
Absolutely! Up to 50% of air duct system cleaning is done in homes that are less than five years old. During construction, the ductwork is wide open and often, the air handler is running, many times without a filter. During this time, construction debris such as pieces of plaster, drywall, wood, dust, insects, insulation, and a host of other airborne contaminants, accumulate in the ductwork. These can recirculate throughout your indoor breathing air for years until they are removed by means of a professional air duct cleaning.
How will I know if my air ducts need to be cleaned?
Excessive, recurring dust and "dust bunnies" throughout your home, are a key indicator that your air ducts are most definitely in need of a thorough and professional cleaning. Other indicators are: filters that "load up" quickly and must be changed more frequently, allergy issues that appear or are more aggravated by increased time spent in your home, black lines at the edge of carpets around walls and under doors, the awareness of a "burny smell" after the initial cold weather startup of the furnace, odors that appear or intensify when air flows through the duct system, etc. Not to mention the fact that, if your air duct system has never been cleaned, regardless of age, our services will insure that your air quality, as it relates to your duct system, is as pristine as is possible, and that any negative effects resulting from poor or worsened air quality, such as allergy and/or breathing issues, the cleanliness of your home, and even premature equipment failures that are dirt related, are minimized!
Will your equipment work in my air ducts?
The equipment we use to clean the air ducts is effective in all types of air duct construction, including flex duct, round metal ducts, square metal ducts, and fiberboard. It can easily accommodate right angle turns and multiple bends found in most types of duct systems.
